WAUKESHA, Wisconsin – Americans shared who they hoped to see on the 2024 presidential ticket during a Trump rally on Friday.
“I would like to [former President] Trump to hold another rematch against Sleepy Joe,” rally-goer Junepit told Fox News.
Junepit attended a campaign rally that Trump held Friday for Wisconsin governor candidate Tim Michels ahead of the Aug. 9 primary in the Badger State.

“I want to see Trump run,” said one participant who said he had lost a quarter of his pension fund since President Biden took office.
The majority of rally participants who spoke to Fox News said Trump should be the Republican nominee for 2024. Trump supporters cited deteriorating economic conditions, international tensions and a general erosion of American values as reasons why he should run again.
“Trump, of course,” contestant Ella replied when asked who she wanted to run. “He didn’t let America be overrun by other countries,” she said.
“Of course I’m going to vote for Donald Trump,” said Joseph, a Chinese immigrant.

“The reason we moved from China to the United States was because we appreciated the American systems,” Joseph told Fox News. He said Trump could restore traditional American values.
Another Trump fan said: “We had everything great under Trump. Now everything is a disaster. It should be clear to everyone that the country needs Trump back.”

Some rally-goers said Florida Governor Ron DeSantis might be a better option.
“I think if Trump leaves, he has a very good chance,” one man, Mark, told Fox News. “DeSantis also has many very good qualities.”
One contestant, Nancy, said, “I’d love to see Trump, but I think he might be better behind the scenes, and DeSantis might be a better choice.”
Trump and DeSantis remain the clear frontrunners among the Republican hopefuls. Trump topped the poll at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Orlando with 59% of the vote, while DeSantis came in second with 28%.

“DeSantis, Trump, either one,” Bill, another rally-goer, told Fox News.
One woman, Brooke, said people had more confidence in the country now that Trump was in office.
“I love Trump, and I love DeSantis too, however they mix that team up, it would be great,” Brooke told Fox News.
