Kevin Divoll of Royalston arrested after feds trace child sex abuse images distribution over wifi from Veterans Affairs Medical Center

A Royalston man, an employee of the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, was arrested Thursday after investigators said he had distributed images of child abuse over the medical center’s public Wi-Fi.

Kevin Divoll, 51, was charged with possession of child pornography. He was arraigned Thursday in federal court in Springfield before U.S. District Court Judge Mark G. Mastroianni and ordered to be held pending a detention hearing scheduled for Aug. 9, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

According to the indictment document, investigators identified the IP address of a device distributing child sexual abuse material through peer-to-peer communication and determined that the device was using public Wi-Fi at the Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center in Leeds, a village. in the town of Northampton.

Further investigation identified Divoll as the owner and user of the device, prosecutors said.

Authorities on Thursday searched Divoll’s home, where a laptop, external hard drive and mobile phone contained images of child sexual abuse.
