FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried Says One Leading Ethereum Rival Is the Most Underrated Crypto Asset

The chief executive of crypto exchange platform FTX says he has identified the most underrated crypto asset.

In a new interview with Fortune, crypto billionaire Sam Bankman-Fried says Ethereum (ETH) challenger Solana (SOL) is the most overlooked digital asset despite recent problems.

“The most underrated token at the moment… I think the answer is in a sense Solana. Basically because I think it had a lot of bad PR in a short period of time, I think it deserved it to be honest.

Technologically, it had a lot… to work through, but I think it’s already gone through two-thirds of that. I think it’s because of the other third, and what people miss [Solana] is that every time you push the boundaries of what’s possible, you find out what breaks. Any blockchain would be broken if it tried to do what Solana did.

This was a way of finding out what needed to be refined and what needed to be improved. I wish problems had been solved sooner, that would have been much better… But a fundamental thing to push the boundaries and see what breaks is what blockchains should try now to grow.”

However, the CEO notes that his opinion of Solana is only his opinion and should not be construed as investment advice.

Recently, the Solana ecosystem was hacked at a cost of $8 million after malicious parties abused the mobile crypto wallets linked to the blockchain.

SOL is changing hands for $40.39 at the time of writing, a 2.08% gain on the day.
